Christina attended the Columbia Publishing Course after graduating from the Writers' Institute at Susquehanna University. Following a grueling double life as a mega-bookstore drudge and an office temp, she scored an internship at The Gernert Company, where she edited manuscripts and fielded John Grisham's phone calls. She regrets that she no longer has any clout in their acquisitions department, but she is delighted to be reading submissions as The Commotion's Editor-in-Chief. In her spare time, she nannies, knits, and bakes.

Mal Hellman graduated from Harvard in 2008 with an English degree and a masochistic desire to join the book publishing industry. She worked in the rights department at Farrar, Straus and Giroux until May 2010, and then spent the summer at a fiction workshop in Iowa City. Taken with area's literary culture and exceedingly reasonable cost of living, she decided to move there. She will begin working toward her MFA in fiction at Indiana University this fall.

Emma is a lot longer than the four-letter version of her name. She is, for now, a Psychology student finishing her Bachelor of Science degree. But more importantly, she is a baby artist wriggling around in the creative mud. She sings, she dances, she writes, she jumps around. Sometimes she holds still long enough to learn something. And most importantly, she is constantly influenced by the brilliance around her. Don't give her caffeine.

Ashley is a career student majoring in English and Sociology at Stony Brook University. There, she spent a year as the Arts & Entertainment editor for The Stony Brook Independent. She's dangling at the end of a six-year BA and is still making the offensive commute, which she affectionately refers to as the "Stony-Brooklyn." She likes to torture herself with impossible thoughts of writing for a living and still managing to pay off her student loans, but when she's actually enjoying herself she publishes this website, takes photographs, and generally watches far too many movies.
